Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and & Hotel’s Inaugural Spring/Summer Meet is off to an incredible start with average daily purses of over $100,000 for the first 10 days of overnight harness racing.  As part of the new and growing overnight program, many racing cards have featured two or more $20,000 open races.

The new and exciting 4-Year-Old KY-Bred Series begins next week and features four (4) Legs in each division racing for $50,000 and finals racing for $150,000.  Entries for the June 7 first leg are due this Thursday, June 2 with only a $250 starting fee.  There is no entry fee for the finals.  All entries must be a Kentucky-bred 4YO as defined by 810 KAR 7:040.

Early Sire Stakes racing at Oak Grove begins the last week of June with each division of two and three-year-old Kentucky-breds racing for 2 legs at $25,000 each and a final of $100,000 (consolation of $25,000).  Horses must start in at least one leg to be eligible for the Final or Consolation.

“We are really excited about the early support of the new meet and look forward to the continue rise of Kentucky racing.  The track surface has been incredible for training and racing as a new track record of 1:48.4 was set over the weekend.  We want to thank all of the horsemen that have supported the new meet and look forward to an exciting stakes season that kicks off next week,” says Bob Brady, Kentucky Harness Association President.
