Six of the seven fillies in here have earnings over $100,000. Celebrate With Me sports the highest tally with $279,132. Uncle Peter is the leading sire in here with three starters.
Two-Year-Old Colt PacersĀ ā #6 Sling Shock enters this final as the points leader (179) despite #5 Gulf Shores being undefeated. Sling Shock has six starts this year, winning four times and finishing second twice. Christi Noble trains this Downbytheseaside colt and husband Dan Noble will drive. This is one of an amazing six horses by Downbytheseaside in this Championship. Gulf Shores is a perfect four-for-four but missed the third leg of the OSS. Although there appears to be two heavyweights in here, this is far from a two-horse race. #3 Terminator checks in third in points and is one of three horses starting for trainer Ron Burke. Tre Cruz has also shown he fits among the states elite but drew poorly in this final.
Three-Year-Old Filly PacersĀ ā #2 Summer Touch is the defending champion filly in here. She is also the divisional leader again this year, winning three of the four legs and finishing third in the leg leading up to this Championship event. Trainer Ron Burke has seen this filly through 11 wins in 17 career starts and earnings of $420,410 with hopes of adding another $150,000 to her bankroll. #6 Dragons Lady Luck also has three wins in OSS legs after finishing fifth in the initial leg, making her second in points. #3 Smothastenesewisky checks in third in points for owner trainer Brian Haynes. She has proven herself to be a force to reckon with among sophomore fillies. Racing Hill leads all sires in this division with three starters in this Championship.
Two-Year-Old Filly TrottersĀ ā Division leader #1 Gabbys C Note, a winner of three of her four Ohio Sires Stakes legs drew the coveted rail. She is one of three fillies that made this final for trainer Chris Beaver. Her three starts in OSS action resulted in three successes. Yet another Beaver starter #8 Stephanie Hill is third in points after winning two OSS legs. #3 Sweet On Pete will have many rooting her on from TheStable.ca, her 44 fractional owners have high hopes after her win and second in two OSS efforts. There is no clear leading sire among freshman filly trotters. Creatine, Triumphant Caviar, Uncle Peter and What The Hill each have two youngsters in this $300,000 race.
Two-Year-Old Filly PacersĀ ā #8 Sea Silk is undefeated in six starts, winning all four OSS legs for trainer Ron Burke, who trains three fillies in this Championship. Her dominance will be put to the ultimate test after drawing the dreaded 8-hole. #1 Cape Cod Hanover, another Burke trainee has won five of six races. Her only loss was a runner-up finish at the hands of Sea Silk. However, her luck at the draw, scoring the pole may be key in turning the tables on her undefeated stablemate. #2 Hotshot Temptress is third in the point-standings for trainer Kyle Ater. She has scored twice in OSS competition this year. This race again illustrates Downbytheseasideās dominance among young Ohio pacers with five offspring in this final.
Two-Year-Old Colt TrottersĀ ā Chris Beaver trainees #1 Caviar Gold and #7 Gabbys Bit Coin are tied with 128 points. Both started in three of the four OSS legs with two wins and a second. #2 Chulo is eighth in the point standings, but first in money after winning the $150,000 Next Generation Race at Scioto Downs to kick-off his freshman campaign. Slim Jimmy is third in points, but looks to have the loudest cheering section as his 76 owners look to own a piece of a Sires Stake champion for TheStable.ca. Six different sires have starters in this final with What The Hill being on top with three.
Three-Year-Old Colt PacersĀ ā Place and Show wagering has been canceled in this Championship event due to heavy favoritism of point leader #2 Charlie May. This son of Mcardle has proven himself to not only be dominant in the Buckeye State, but has been impressive in Open competition, winning (but was DQād ) in the $700,000 Meadowlands Pace and winning the $300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial at MGM Northfield Park. Heart Of Chewbacca is second in points, but drew the dreaded 8-hole. Seven sires are represented in this final, with Mcardle sporting two finalists.
Three-Year-Old Colt TrottersĀ ā #6 Winning Ticket is the undisputed points leader, earning more than double the points of any other finalist and is one of four starters for trainer Chris Beaver. He is a perfect nine-for-nine this season. #4 Perron is the defending champion in this division and is fifth in points this year with two seconds, a fourth and a fifth place finish in his four OSS starts. #7 Mcstoned Again enters this race with five straight wins, including an OSS victory on August 14 at Northfield Park.
