One dash for $110,100 NYSS at Vernon

Vernon Downs welcomes the $110,100 New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) harness racing leg for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday (August 27).

A full field of nine is led by the 2-1 morning line favorite Vivians Dream (American Ideal-Sports Chic, Jordon Stratton).  Cory Mumford trains the filly.  She has five wins in six starts this season with NYSS wins at Saratoga, Tioga, Monticello, Buffalo, and Batavia.  She has already won over $150,000 in her career.

Twin B Joe Fresh (Roll With Joe-Fresh Breeze, Jason Bartlett) is the 5-2 second choice.  The filly is trained by Chris Ryder.   She has four wins in five starts including NYSS wins at Tioga and Saratoga.  She was won over $135,000 in her career.

The Brett Pelling trained Earthwindfire (American Ideal-Road Bet, Jack Pelling) is the 4-1 third morning choice and she should be a major player as well.  The filly will meet Vivians Dream for the third time this season.  Earthwindfire lost narrowly to Vivians Dream in a NYSS race at Tioga Downs (July 15).   The filly got her revenge when she came charging late to edge Vivians Dream in a NYSS win at Yonkers (August 2).  She also got a NYSS win at Monticello.
