Harness racing driver Austin Siegelman gave his horse Dougs Babe A (Western Terror) a perfect second-over trip and his mare responded with an upset win in the $39,000 Fillies & Mares Invitational Pace Friday (Aug. 30) at Yonkers Raceway.
The 9th race feature saw Coachhellabound N (Jason Bartlett) work their way to the early lead by the opening quarter mile in :27 over race favorite Man Dontforget Me (Tyler Buter).
They raced single file past the half mile in :56.3 and then Dragons Lucky Lady (Brent Holland) came first-over and following the live cover was Dougs Babe A. The three-quarters was reached in 1:24.2.
Dragons Lucky Lady kept the pressure on Coachellabound N around the final turn and starting down the stretch. Then coming from off the pace in fourth place was Dougs Babe A and Siegelman. They kept on motoring down the stretch to win by a half a length in 1:52.1 over Man Dontforget Me with Coachellabound N third in a photo.
