P L Pasquale stays hot taking new mark

Plainville, MA — P L Pasquale (Thinking Out Loud) got his third harness racing win in a row at Plainridge Park despite moving up in class each week, and on Thursday (Nov. 20) in the $25,000 Baystate Special, took a new lifetime mark as well.

P L Pasquale (Kevin Switzer Jr.) got away fifth and watched a four horse dash for the lead that eventually saw E R Griffin (Nick Graffam) taking control after a speedy :26.3 quarter. E R Griffin then took his loose lead to the half in :54.1 and three-quarters in 1:22.2. At that point, Warrawee Yale (Brett Beckwith) was moving first-over in the breeze with P L Pasquale following closely. When the race entered the last turn, Warrawee Yale’s attack stalled and P L Pasquale was forced to go three-wide. As the race reached the top of the stretch, P L Pasquale had moved into second and then ran down E R Griffin at the line and won by one-quarter length in 1:51.1.

It was the ninth win of the year for the Neal Grass owned and trained P L Pasquale ($13.20).

There were also two $20,000 paces on the card.

In the $20,000 Baystate Special II, Jettingtomalibu (Kevin Switzer Jr.) led at every station in times of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:23.2 before rounding the turn and bolting to the line on top by 3-¼ lengths in 1:51.2, which was a new lifetime mark.

It was the second straight win for Jettingtomalibu ($2.60), who is owned by John Barnard and trained by Irwin Rosenthal.

Switzer added one more win with Sweet Lucky Lou (1:55.1, $3.60) during the proceedings to end the day with a triple at the lines.

Then in the $20,000 upper-level conditioned pace, Alex Having Fun (Matty Athearn) was also a runaway winner. After posting uncontested splits of :26.1, :54.3 and 1:22.4, Alex Having Fun opened up a five length advantage as he entered the stretch and then just jogged home under Athearn wraps to win in 1:51.1.

Alex Having Fun ($4.60) is owned and trained by Kimberly Vafiades.

Live racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Friday (Nov. 21) at 1 p.m. There are only five racing days left in the 2025 season at Plainridge Park.
