Passing Lane aids Secret Jet in top trot

Secret Jet weaved his way through heavy traffic and won the $20,000 Winners Over Select Handicap Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night.

Quiksilvr Blue Chip blasted off the gate and took an early lead to the quarter in :27.1.  Skyway Bebop and Tony Morgan sprinted in front of the stands and took the lead away from Quiksilvr Bluechip.

Secret Jet and Allan Davis protected the rail position behind the early speed. Skyway Bebop, the 8/5 betting favorite, led the field to the half in :56.1. Remarkable De Vie trotted 1st up down the backstretch and trotted past a tiring Skyway Bebop at the three quarters in 1:24.3 (:28.2).

Secret Jet and driver Allan Davis were able to find clearance into the passing lane and won by a head in 1:54.2. He paid $29.20 for the win.

Secret Jet (Dejarmbro) is owned and trained by Tyler Davis of Smyrna, Delaware.  Heavensdor Hanover closed to be 2nd for trainer Wayne Givens. Art Stafford Jr drove and Remarkable De Vie finished 3rd for trainer Traci Berry. Pat Berry drove.

Majorca N takes on Bettors Heart N in the 11th race $32,500 Mares Open/Preferred Handicap Pace on Wednesday night Post Time at Dover Downs is 4:30 pm.
