Closing from eighth last week, Pasta Momma (Huntsville) simply had too far to come to catch Talk Show Chica in last week’s harness racing Mares Open at Rosecroft.
Tuesday night (Oct. 31), Jonathan Roberts put the three-year-old filly on the front and she did now let him down, winning in 1:52.4 setting a new lifetime mark in her ninth win of 2023. Michael Hall trains the filly for Manklin Creek LLC. She had now been on the board in 19 of 23 starts on the year.Ā It was one of three wins for Hall and two wins for Roberts on the night.

Hugh O’Neil and Funnyfunnyriddle (Lockkeeper) sat a perfect pocket trip and sprinted past Jammin Jack (Frank MIlby) to upset in the $10,000 Open Trot, in 1:56.2. Chris Scicluna trains the Maryland Bred for Brenda Hahn.
Johnathan Ahle had three wins on the card, trainer Steve Leblanc won twice. Miss Lucy Ivy (Always A Virgin) won her fourth race in the last five starts, for Driver Justin Walters and Trainer Jason Walters. She was claimed out of race for $12,000 by Robert Cacamese for Leblanc. Frank Milby won twice on the card giving Dad Don a training double.
Matt Zuccarello and Stacey Mclenaghan won divisions of the Mid Atlantic Amateur Drivers Club.
