Horseman take care of there own

Representatives from the Massachusetts harness racing community gathered in the Plainridge Park winners circle on Monday, and presented a check to help those not as fortunate as themselves. The New England Amateur Harness Drivers Club recently hosted a golf tournament at nearby Wentworth Hills Country Club, which was a fundraiser for the Living Bread Food Pantry of Plainville.

 

"The horsemen wished to give something back to the local community for its continued support," said Billy Abdelnour, President of the New England Amateur Drivers Club. "The people of Plainville have welcomed the horsemen and their families since the doors to the racetrack opened over 16 years ago, and that unwavering support is the reason that Plainridge Park is here today."

 

The Living Bread Food Pantry is celebrating 30 years of helping those who are most in need. The New England Amateur Harness Drivers Club and the horsemen of Plainridge Park congratulate the organization on the tireless work it does, and hopes to make this an annual event.

 

Plainridge Park, home of Massachusetts' first casino, races each Monday through Thursday. The 2015 meet continues through November 30th. Post time will be at 1:00 P.M. for the balance of the meet.
