Monticello, NY— The 6-5 favorite Play To The Crowd (Always A Virgin) captured the harness racing victory in the $5,400 pace at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Oct. 2).
Play To The Crowd (Joseph Chindano Jr) left the gate first, alongside Seafood Sweetheart (Brad Irvine). As they passed the quarter mile in :27.3, Play To The Crowd had the lead, with Seafood Sweetheart following closely in second. Beach Passage (Ralph Silvestri III) and Evas Sports Czech (Michael Merton) were in a battle for third.
Beach Passage began to move to the front from the outside, challenging Play To The Crowd for the lead. Pocket trip Seafood Sweetheart followed in second. They passed the half mile mark in :57.1.
Play To The Crowd led the way, with Seafood Sweetheart on the inside in second. We The Female (Thomas Merton) and Evas Sports Czech battled for third as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:25.4.
At the top of the stretch, Seafood Sweetheart started to close the gap from the outside. Hurrikanemyshannon (Brandon Parker) and We The Female were fighting for third. Play To The Crowd crossed the wire first in 1:55.1, a neck ahead of Seafood Sweetheart. Hurrikanemyshannon finished in third.

Play To The Crowd, a 7-year-old mare, is trained by McKenzie Sowers and owned by Room4040 LLC Stables. She paid $4.70 to win.
