Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania begins its 59th season of harness racing action on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 17) with an Opening Day racing card. 12 races are on tap, beginning with a first post time of 1 PM Eastern Time.
Pocono has scheduled 130 race dates for the 2024 meet. After racing on Saturday and Monday afternoons for the remainder of February, the Northeastern Pennsylvania track will add Tuesday afternoons in March. In May, Pocono will begin to host Sunday night racing to bring the schedule up to its full slate of four cards a week.
Many of the trackās top drivers from recent seasons are on the card for Saturday afternoonās action, including defending driving champion Matt Kakaley, George Napolitano Jr., Anthony Napolitano, Tyler Buter, Braxten Boyd, Simon Allard, and Ridge Warren. The 10th race feature is a condition pace carrying a purse of $16,500, with the #2 horse Billy Clyde listed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite.
Poconoās 2024 meet rolls through the spring, summer, and autumn months, before concluding in November.
