On Monday July 5th the 3 year old trotting colts and geldings 2nd leg preliminaries went to post in the first race on a beautiful harness racing night at Ocean Downs
Trentās A Lock (Lockkeeper) scored his first win of the 2021season by taking the lead by the half and holding off favorite Funnyfunnyriddle (Lockkeeper) in the 2:02.2 mile. John Wagner was in the bike and also the trainer of Trentās A Lock for owner/breeder Pam Wagner.
Two splits for the 3 year old filly paces went behind thegate as races 3 and 5.
Reinsman Russell Foster pulled Ellaās A Treat (Camās Rocket) just passed the half closing on the leaders with every stride, picking up her first lifetime win 1 Ā½ lengths ahead of Intracoastal (Camās Rocket). Russell Foster is the owner, Megan Foster trains and Roger Hans is the breeder of Ellaās A Treat. Time for the mile was 1:58.3.
Madisonsallin (Rustyās All In) scored a wire to wire victory over Samanthaās All In (Rustyās All In) stopping the clock in 1:57.3. The combination of John Wagner and Pam Wagner picked up their second stakes win of the night as driver/trainer and owner/breeder.
The second round of Maryland sire stakes continues on Wednesday July 7th. Ocean Downs will also host the Ostrich and Camel races after the 4th and 7th race that night.
