The fastest 3-year-old trotter of 2023 is now harness racing’s newest millionaire. French Wine (Bar Hopping) 3,1:50 $1,007,194 trotted his last career start Friday November 24th at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in the Thanksgiving Classic.
Hard used from the outside post through a first quarter of 27.1 French Wine set the tempo throughout with Breeeder’s Crown elimination winner Helpfirstedition on his back. French Wine showed off his gameness and beautiful gait through the entire length of the Hoosier stretch to lose by a scant nose to the pocket sitter with an eye-catching last quarter of 26.2 while pushing his career earnings over the one-million-dollar mark. From 28 lifetime starts French Wine was on the board in 78% of them with 8 wins, 7 second place finishes and 7 third place finishes while competing against the best colts of his year.
Owned by Daniel Plouffe, Jean Christophe Plouffe, One Legend Stable and Andy Miller Stable, trained by Julie Miller and driven by Andy Miller, the extremely handsome and regally bred colt is now headed to the stallion barn at Winterwood Farm in Bellville Ohio under the management of Dr. J Stallion Management. French Wine will stand for an initial service fee of $6,000 and shares are available for purchase.
