The six-year-old harness racing pacing gelding Sweet Oliver (Three Olives – Sugar Biscuit) and driver Ed Hennessey clocked the fastest mile on the 10-race program Saturday (Aug. 26) night in 1:54 at Northville Downs.
On a much cooler Michigan summer night, the fastest pacer on the program, Sweet Oliver, heated up for owners Sandra Hennessey and Paula Sugars, scoring wire-to-wire in race four to win by a widening two and three-quarters lengths after facing only mild pressure in the mile.
Sumthinboutim sat the pocket the entire mile to be second and Don’tcallmefrancis settled for third.
The win marked Sweet Oliver’s 20th lifetime win, who is conditioned by Sandra Hennessey.
