Pompano Beach, FL., April 3, 2022 – Two famed announcers in their respective equine arenas will fight it out for supremacy on Monday night at Pompano Park with the real winners being charities supporting the aftercare of retired racehorses.
During that show, Aiello hurled insults and objects at Prewitt as co-host John Berry gawked in disbelief.
Aiello was eventually removed from the set and escorted off the grounds.
“I just wanted to get the point across that Prewitt had two chances to beat me–little and none!” Aiello said. “The horse he is driving did finish ahead of the one I have but mine went a faster quarter at the end. I promise you, I will either be in the lead or in the pocket right behind in striking distance…and that is for sure!”
Prewitt countered, “Pete’s just blowing smoke, as usual. It doesn’t matter who closed fastest of all if you don’t get by. If you have a ticket on a horse 10 lengths back and he closes nine of those lengths, the winner is the one who gets paid! By the time he gets his 450 pounds rolling, I will have run away and hidden!”
The historic event will take place between races four and five with the ultimate winners being New Vocations and Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, both venues showcasing the athleticism of racehorses after they have completed their racing careers.
There will be interviews with trainers and a special Hall-of-Fame Starter for the Monday festivities, as well as post-race interviews with both Prewitt and Aiello.
Those wishing to donate to these very worthwhile aftercare causes can go to “gofundme.com” and click on “Battle of the Big Mouths.” Thus far, close to $5,000 has been raised.
