Once out in front there was no turning back for Primadonna Deo (Trixton) as she was able to wire the harness racing field in capturing the $70,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Standardbred Development Fund Final Friday (Sept. 16) at Freehold Raceway.
The 5th race feature for three-year-old trotting fillies saw Mrs Taylor and driver Austin Siegelman first on the lead off the starting gate but coming on the outside to take command was Primadonna Deo and driver Andy McCarthy.
They tripped the teletimer for the first quarter in :28.2. They raced single file past the half in :57.2 as Magnolia Volo (George Brennan) came first-over and was in third place on the outside at the three-quarters in 1:26.2 when she went off-stride.
At that point Primadonna Deo and McCarthy tore away from the field, leading by three lengths at the top of the stretch and then winning by two and one-half lengths in 1:56.1. Mrs Taylor was second with Gertrude (Andy Miller) third.
