Grove City, Ohio – Three-year-old harness racing colt pacers were back in Buckeye Stallion Series action Wednesday night, June 7, at MGM Northfield Park. Four of the seven first-leg winners returned, but only Primary Driver (Fear The Dragon) was able to find the winner’s circle. Five divisions, each with a purse of $20,000 highlighted the card.
Primary Driver made it two-for-two in the BSS as Brady Galliers took him three-wide down the backstretch, grabbing the lead at the top of the stretch and holding on to win by a length in 1:52.2. Owned by Galliers Racing and trained by Galliers, Primary Driver has won three of six starts this year. Badger was second with Somewhere Vintage third.

The fastest division of the night went to Quick Trick, a winner in 1:51.4. The son of Racing Hill with Chris Page in the bike grabbed the lead around the final turn and never looked back, winning by seven lengths. Jeff Conger trains and co-owns Quick Trick with Knox Services. Quick Trick has hit the board in five of six starts this year, winning three. Cruisin Jim finished in second with Winning Hill third.

Dragon Candy with Ryan Stahl battled down the lane to win the second division by a neck in 1:53.3. Trained by Calvin Hollar and owned by John DeSantis, the son of Fear The Dragon won for the fourth time this year in ten starts. Tequila And Ice was second with Jackjimbettynkaren third.

The fourth division went to Boundtobefearless with Luke Ebersole. Boundtobefearless took the lead heading to the half-mile mark and fought off a late charge from Gettingyoursealegs to win by a neck in 1:52.4. It was the third Buckeye Stallion Series win of the night for Fear The Dragon offspring. Trained by Jessica McGown and owned by Tammie Wilcox, Alan White, and Richard Copp, it was the third win of the year for Boundtobefearless. Gettingyoursealegs was second with Trooper L third.
BOUNDTOBEFEARLESS REPLAY
In the final division of the night, Liteningonthebeach with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. won his fourth race in a row as he went gate-to-wire to win by a length in 1:52.3 for trainer Brian Brown. Unraced as a two-year-old, the son of Downbytheseaside has won five of seven starts for the ownership group of Country Club Acres, Joe Sbrocco, Acadia Farms, and Richard Lombardo. The Mandalorian finished second with Don’ttouchmytruck third.

The second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series concludes Friday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs when five divisions of the three-year-old colt trotters take the track.
