Proudamericangirl snags Monticello pace

Monticello, NY— Proudamericangirl (Western Maverick, Adam Moeykens) won the $4,900 harness racing pace at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Nov. 13).

Proudamericangirl went for the early lead, with Nothing Tosee Here (Rick Harp) in second. From the outside, the 6-5 favorite Come Zoom With Me (Bruce Aldrich Jr) rushed up to steal the lead as they marched by the first quarter mile mark in :28.3.

Come Zoom With Me led the way by a length, with Proudamericangirl sitting in second. Bestgirlfriendever (Brandon Parker) rushed up from the outside as they passed the half mile in :59.4. Come Zoom With Me was the leader, with Proudamericangirl and Bestgirlfriendever battling for second as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:28.4.

As they made their way around the final turn, Proudamericangirl started to close the gap between her and the leader from the passing lane. Proudamericangirl beat Come Zoom With Me by a neck in 1:58. Hurrikanemyshannon (Joseph Chindano Jr) came in third.

Proudamericangirl is a 6-year-old mare owned by Gary Saj and trained by Richard Campolong. She paid $9.90 to win.
