Purple Lord and Pantaleano claim tidy win

Purple Lord (Tactical Landing) takes the featured $12,000 harness racing trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May 24).

Purple Lord (Jim Pantaleano) forged out to the lead and led to the quarter in :28.1.  He slowed things down using a :30.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.1.  Andover Contessa (Braxten Boyd) came first-up to challenge heading down the backstretch.  Purple Lord led to three-quarters in 1:26.4.

As they reached the stretch Purple Lord found another gear and won in 1:55.2.  Andover Contessa had to settle for second.  Lava Field (Tyler Miller) finished third.

Purple Lord is a 5-year-old gelding by Tactical Landing.  He is owned by trainer Mike Deters along with Spindler, Warner, and Paulsen.  It was his second win this season.  He now owns 11 career victories.

The red-hot Braxten Boyd drove three winners on the card.  Ridge Warren had a driving double.  Paul Zabielski had a training double.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (May 25) with a post time of 1 p.m.
