HARRINGTON, DE – Quiksilvr Bluechip ($6.60, Victor Kirby) notched his second straight Open Trot win in the $20,000 Wednesday harness racing feature at Harrington Raceway in 1:55.
Co-owned by trainer/driver Kirby with Tyler Raymer, Stephen Moss and Brian Hoffecker, the 6-year-old Credit Winner gelding led wire-to-wire and prevailed by a length over Spee Club and Lizzy Lauxmont.
The complexion of the race changed dramatically when race favorite Monarch, who had won 3 straight, broke stride behind the gate prior to the start. It was the 20th career win for Quiksilvr Bluechip and one of two wins on the card for Kirby.
