Racine Belle cruises to easy win

Driver Leon Bailey gets a grand slam including a harness racing win in the $6,500 featured fillies & mares pace with Racine Belle (So Surreal) at Vernon Downs on Friday (October 11).

Racine Belle ($2.50) darted right to the front and led to the quarter in :27,0.  She would slow things down with a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.2.  Her big lead started to shrink as she got to the three-quarters first in 1:24.3.

As they reached the stretch third place finisher, I Loved Her First (John MacDonald) and second place finisher, Abuelita Hanover (Jimmy Whittemore) started to get closer but Racine Belle found another gear and won easily in :153.0.

Racine Belle is a 7-year-old mare by So Surreal.  David Dewhurst trains for owners Chris and Dale Lawton.  It was her fifth win this season and her 42nd career victory.

Bailey got his other wins with Boston Jive, Rackadoodledoo, and Play Rock.
