Driver Leon Bailey gets a grand slam including a harness racing win in the $6,500 featured fillies & mares pace with Racine Belle (So Surreal) at Vernon Downs on Friday (October 11).
Racine Belle ($2.50) darted right to the front and led to the quarter in :27,0.Ā She would slow things down with a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.2.Ā Her big lead started to shrink as she got to the three-quarters first in 1:24.3.
As they reached the stretch third place finisher, I Loved Her First (John MacDonald) and second place finisher, Abuelita Hanover (Jimmy Whittemore) started to get closer but Racine Belle found another gear and won easily in :153.0.
Racine Belle is a 7-year-old mare by So Surreal.Ā David Dewhurst trains for owners Chris and Dale Lawton.Ā It was her fifth win this season and her 42nd career victory.
