WASHINGTON, PA, Oct. 21, 2021 — The only mare in a field of geldings, Rainbowinthewest survived a demanding opening panel and went on to capture Thursday’s harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $12,100 Conditioned Trot.
Rainbowinthewest was parked for most of that 28 first quarter before she could cross over. Although she’d been off a month, the 6-year-old daughter of Andover Hall-Miss Milwaukee had enough in the tank for driver Brian Zendt to repel the Lightning Lane charge of Walkingintherain and defeat him by a neck in 1:55.3. Hashtagmadeyalook completed the ticket.
Robert Rougeaux III trains the winner, who extended her lifetime bankroll to $208,078, for Brocious Racing Stable and Lone Wolf Stable. It was one of three wins for Zendt on the 12-race card.
RAINBOWINTHEWEST REPLAY
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday when the 12-race program features a $63,306.09 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. Special fall/winter post time is 4 PM.
