Bangor, Maine – Real Sancho (Real Desire) remained on an epic roll Saturday (November 4) as the lightning hot harness racing pacer continued his determined climb up the Class Master condition ladder at Bangor Raceway, winning his seventh consecutive race in his usual braggadocios’ manner.

With owner and regular pilot, Joey Mosher, sidelined with a hand injury on Saturday, Drew Campbell drew the catch-driving assignment behind the six-year-old. A winner by open-lengths in all but one of his streaky efforts, the precocious pacer was hustled off the car by Campbell, eventually extending out to an easy two-length margin at the wire, while taking a seasonal mark of 1:56.2 during his determined front-end jaunt around the Queen City oval.

Real Sancho, who has been conditioned by Kimberly Vafiades since Mosher acquired the pacer in early September, has now earned $18,450 during the course of his rampage through the ranks of the raceways of Maine.

Now with the Bangor meet coming to its conclusion on Wednesday (November 8) his connections sights figure to be set either on the Winter Festival meet at First Tracks Cumberland or the late-fall meeting at Plainridge Racecourse.

Whatever the venue, the beat goes on.

REAL SANCHO REPLAY

In other Bangor news, Drew Campbell trumped all drivers on Saturday, while scoring three wins on the ten-race program. Besides his catch-driving epic with Real Sancho, Campbell caroused with Tradis (2:00.1-$6.00), giving trainer Kimberly Vafiades her second win of the day. Campbell’s third winner came in perhaps the most confusing contest of the afternoon as Reys N A Ruckus (1:58-$4.20) avoided a tangled-up traffic-jam while sprinting out ten-lengths clear of the cacophony, to hand trainer Eric Bickmore his second conditioning win on the program.

Driver Heath Campbell brought home a pair of winners for the Valerie Grondin roster as Gold Star Spider (1:57-$8.40) took a seasonal mark, while Pembroke Junebug (1:58.1-$5.80) won her third consecutive race.

Bruce Ranger and Aaron Hall also joined the “double your pleasure club”, each teaming two winners home during the course of the late morning/early afternoon card.

Closing day of the 2023 season at Bangor Raceway will be on Wednesday (November 8) with post time scheduled at 3:00 p.m. (EST).
