CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – No Plan Intended (Up The Credit) will look to build off of his Bob Dewar Memorial win as he heads back to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park for Saturday evening (Jul. 22).
The city harness racing track has a 13-dash card kicking off at 6 P.M. with the Preferred pace headlining the card in race 12 for a $3,800 purse.
No Plan Intended was back to his winning ways in the Bob Dewar Governor’s Plate consolation his last start at Red Shores Summerside winning in 1:53 for the still intact team of driver David Dowling and co-owner and trainer Jennifer Doyle with co-owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The pacer scored his fourth win of the season in that event and will leave from post 6 on Saturday evening.
Former Gold Cup and Saucer winner Time To Dance has post 5 in the field after winning his last start in 1:54.2 at Red Shores Summerside for trainer-driver Marc Campbell. The 45-time winner went into that race off a three-week rest and now gets back into a seven-day rotation.
Stash It Away holds down post 5 with Gilles Barrieau getting the catch driving call for trainer Kevin MacLean after a fifth-place finish in the $35,000 Governor’s Plate final, presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge, in his last start.
Veteran pacer Moonwriter hooks up with Ken Murphy from post 1 while trainer-driver Jason Hughes has Spicey P with post 2. Rounding out the field is Soccer Hanover and driver Corey MacPherson from post 4.
The Post Time Picks like Stash It Away on top.
“Stash It Away was up against the best horses in the Maritimes on Saturday and paced a mile in 1:53.2. Slides into post three and if Barrieau can keep him close they could pull a mild upset in the feature.”
Race 3 is the P.E.I. Pride Festival pace with Nolans Magic Shui the top selection with pylon control for driver Adam Merner, trainer and co-owner Melissa Rennie and co-owner Dale and Ronnie Rennie Inc., of Alma.

SUMMERSIDE, PE – Finishing in the top three every week, Frontier Cruise (Sunshine Beach) will look to notch one more in the win column in the Sunday afternoon top class at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Western track has a 13 race cards slated for a 1 P.M. start time.
The $3,400 feature hits the track in race 12 with Ken Murphy getting the drive aboard Frontier Cruise from the Jean Bellibeau stable of Dieppe, N.B. The trainer co-owns the 19-time winner with J.C. Belliveau of Scoudouc. Frontier Cruise has hit his groove lately with a win, three seconds and two thirds from his last six starts. The pacer was third his last start on Governor’s Plate night behind East Coast pacing stars Time To Dance and Rose Run Quest.
His main obstacle to getting his 20th lifetime win on Sunday is set to be post 4 starter Sauble Attack for driver Dale Spence and trainer Paul Biggar. Biggar co-owns the Bettors Delight five-year-old with Donald Callbeck.
Ironside Seelster leaves from post 1 with Corey MacPherson driving for trainer Duane MacEachern. Brodie MacPhee has a full slate of drives on Sunday afternoon and picks up the steer on Coasttocoastshark from post 2 for trainer Jeff Wallace.
JJ Patrick scored a monumental upset on Governor’s Plate night and draws the outside again Sunday, this time with Norris Rogers in the seat for trainer Rick Armstrong.
The Backstretch Beat takes Frontier Cruise to win.
“Frontier Cruise was a bang-up third to former Free-For-Allers Time To Dance and Rose Run Quest. Company is tough today but not as tough as that start so we see the lion’s share of the Sunday top class heading back to New Brunswick.”
The $2,350 race 13 finale has more New Brunswick flavour as Elm Grove Quest is the morning line favourite from post 7 fresh off a 1:55 lifetime best victory on Governor’s Plate night. MacPhee gets the steer this week for trainer and co-owner Alan Jones of Riverview, N.B., and co-owner Normand Leger of Shediac. Her main opposition is Sports Icon (Driven by Patrick Shepherd) and Brookdale Maggie (MacPherson).
