Refi fights them all off

WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 8, 2022 — Challenged inside and out, Refi (Chapter Seven-Blazingmusclegirl) dug deep and captured Thursday’s (Sep. 8) harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $14,000 Conditioned Trot.

Refi zipped to the lead from post 4 for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and worked out a reasonable :57 half.

As they turned for home, the 6-year-old Refi found himself threatened by the first-over Keystone Chaos and Killer Instinct heading for the Lightning Lane. But Refi had just enough to triumph in 1:54.3, 1/2 length better than Killer Instinct, with Keystone Chaos third.

Sam Schillaci trains Refi, who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $278,029, for Schillaci Stables LLC, Sam Bova Racing LLC and Peter Barbato.

Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 12-race card.
