YONKERS, N.Y.— Amateur harness racing driver Andrew Adamczyk, who won the Spring Series final earlier this year, added another series win to his resume on Thursday night (Aug. 22) when delivering 1-9 favorite Stick With Me Kid (Deweycheatumnhowe) to the finish line first in the $20,000 North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Summer Series Final at Yonkers Raceway.
Leaving from post 1, Adamczyk forced his peers to chase him right from off the blocks. He took command with Stick With Me Kid to a :29.2 first quarter and received only respect on the point with nary a challenger mounting a bid to a 1:00 half.
Beacon Beach (driven by Cote Keim), parked from the start first up, started a retreat to the backside that clogged the outer tier all while Stick Me Kid continued to muscle forward to three-quarters in 1:28.4.
Stick With Me Kid spun for home on a four-length cushion and rolled with ease to the finish of a 1:58.1 mile to win by 3-1/2 lengths. Pocket-chaser Raceace (Alan Schwartz) gave futile pursuit from second as did Explosive Ridge (Matt Zuccarello) from third, beaten another two lengths. Psalmsfortysixfive (Scott Keppler) saved ground to grab fourth.
STICK WITH ME KID REPLAY
Nicholas Devita trains Stick With Me Kid, a 10-year-old gelding, for owner J M F Racing LLC. He paid $2.10 to win.
