BERLIN, MD — After finishing second in his last two harness racing starts, Dawn Amiss’ homebred Fantastic Voyage (Cool Flying Fun) found his way back to the Ocean Downs winner’s circle in Sunday’s (June 23) $12,000 Open 1 Handicap Pace, throwing down the gauntlet early en route to a 1:52.3 score and giving driver Jared Moyer one of four wins on the 12-race card.

Moyer sent 7-5 favorite Fantastic Voyage in pursuit of the lead from post six, and the pair strode clear of He’s Gonna Getya (driven by Trae Porter) to control splits of :27.3, :56.2 and 1:24 before gradually pulling away from his seven rivals through the final turn. The 7-year-old outpaced He’s Gonna Getya by four lengths to score his second Open win of the meet. Z’s Dream (Fern Paquet Jr.) stalked the top pair throughout and finished third as the 25-1 longest shot on the board.

Deshawn Sample trains 29-time winner Fantastic Voyage, who paid $4.80 to win.

Moyer also won with Tenouttaten ($4.40, 2:02.2), Rock Solid Bet ($32.60, 1:57.2) and his own trainee Lucky Ramsey ($3.80, 1:56.1).

On the undercard, 2022 Breeders Crown winner Ammo (Sweet Lou) scored his second win in as many starts over the Ocean half-mile oval, drilling a six-length, 1:53.1 win over Rhythm Of The Rein and Captain Mikey in a $9,500 conditioned pace for non-winners of 10 pari-mutuel races or $100,000. Jonathan Roberts drove the 4-year-old for trainer Michael Hall.

Racing turnsre to Ocean Downs on Wednesday (June 26) with a 12-race card set to commence at 7:05 p.m.
