Ft. Washington, MD — Jonathan Roberts and Frank Milby each earned four wins on the 12-race Tuesday night (Sept. 29) harness racing card at Rosecroft Raceway.
Fancy Colt (Milby) took the $10,000 Open Handicap for colts and geldings with a first-over move down the backside and scored in the driving rain in 1:53.
Roberts took the top spot in the $10,000 Mares Open Handicap with Lanco Express, who scored her fifth straight victory, pacing the mile in 1:53.1.
Trainer Tim Crissman had three wins on the card and Ken Schlotzhauer had a pair of wins.
Rosecroft hosted four preliminaries for the Maryland Sires Stakes program before the card, Tom's Typhoon (Roger Plante) and stablemate Tom's Tornado (Roberts) were inches from a dead heat in 1:57. Tom's Typhoon moved to the lead past the quarter and hung on in the 3-year-old colt and gelding category.
Jay Boy and Sean Bier scored the top spot in the 3-year-old trotting category for colts and geldings. The son of Tsunami scored in a lifetime best 1:59.1.
Plante guided Betcha Ur My Baby home in 2:00.4 in the 3-year-old filly trot, while Cory Mumford eased Helaine's Firebird to a dominating nine length score for 3-year-old filly pacers.
