For the second straight week Rocknroll Runa A (Rock N Roll Heaven) proved to be the best in the $36,000 Open-Handicap harness racing pace at Yonkers Raceway Monday (Aug. 7).
The 8th race feature started off with Hellabalou (Joe Bongiorno) leaving from post six and quickly getting to the lead with Groovy Joe (Jordan Stratton) getting the two-hole trip as the field raced single file to the quarter in :27.2 and then the half mile in :57.
Then American Courage (Matt Kakaley) came first-over and grabbing the second-over cover was Rocknroll Runa A with driver George Brennan. They pressured Hellabalou to the three-quarters in 1:24.1.
By the top of the stretch, Hellabalou was barely holding them off and then came Brennan and Rocknroll Runa A down the stretch with a :27 second last quarter to win by one length in 1:51.4. Hellabalou held for second with Alluneedisfaith N (Tyler Buter) third.
