Monticello, NY— Rolling With Sam (Roll With Joe, Jim Devaux) won the $6,500 harness racing Open pace at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 27).
Don Domingo N (Gregory Merton) took the early lead, followed by Rolling With Sam in the pocket in second. Smart Talker (Mcgwire Sowers) was racing in third as they approached the quarter mile in :28.1.
Don Domingo N had the lead by a length over Rolling With Sam as they passed the half mile in :57.4.
Coming around the clubhouse turn, Don Domingo N led the way, followed by Rolling With Sam. Moving up first-over, Sauvignon Bluechip (Adam Moeykens) rushed to challenge Smart Talker for third. As they came to the three-quarter mile in 1:26.4, Don Domingo N and Sauvignon Bluechip were in a battle for first, Rolling With Sam followed in third, and Caviart Reagan (Bruce Aldrich Jr) had moved into fourth.
As they made their way down the stretch, Rolling With Sam passed Don Domingo N to steal the victory in 1:54.3. Don Domingo N followed a neck behind in second and Sauvignon Bluechip finished in third.
ROLLING WITH SAM REPLAY
Rolling With Sam is a 6-year-old gelding owned by Morrison Racing Stables and trained by Andrew Adamczyk. He paid $4.30 to win.
Jim Devaux and Gregory Merton had driving doubles and Andrew Adamczyk had a training double.
