Rolling With Sam rolls to Monticello Open win

Monticello, NY— Rolling With Sam (Roll With Joe, Jim Devaux) won the $6,500 Open harness racing pace at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday (Jan. 3).

Some Deal Hanover (Bruce Aldrich Jr) took the early lead, but was quickly overcome by Rolling With Sam from the outside. Smart Talker (Mcgwire Sowers) was racing in third as they passed the opening quarter in :28.1.

As they approached the half mile in :57.3, Rolling With Sam was holding on to the lead, Some Deal Hanover was racing in second, and Smart Talker followed in third.

Mighty Santana N (Jim Taggart Jr) was first-over, and moved to challenge Some Deal Hanover for second. They reached the three-quarter mile in 1:25.4.

Rolling With Sam crossed the wire in 1:54.2, three lengths ahead of Some Deal Hanover. Smart Talker finished in third.

ROLLING WITH SAM REPLAY

Rolling With Sam is a 7-year-old gelding owned by Morrison Racing Stables and trained by Andrew Adamczyk. He paid $3.40 to win.

Gregory Merton and Mcgwire Sowers had driving doubles. Jim Devaux had a driving triple.

Racing at Monticello Raceway resumes tomorrow, Thursday, January 4. Post time is 12:10 p.m.
