Rookies to battle in Scioto series

Eldorado Scioto Downs has written a harness racing series for Ohio bred 2-year-olds for all four divisions starting next week. The condition is non-winners of one pari-mutuel or $7,500 life, with each leg going for $9,000 and the finals estimated at $17,000.

Colt and filly trotters will start on Tuesday (July 27); the box closes on Friday (July 23) at 2 p.m. The second leg for trotters will be on August 3, with the final on August 17.

The first leg for 2-year-old filly pacers will be on Wednesday (July 28), with the second leg scheduled for August 4 and the final on August 18.

The series for 2-year-old colt pacers will start on August 5, due to the Buckeye Stallion Series being held on July 29. The second leg is scheduled for August 12, with the final on August 19.
