Fort Washington, MD — The 26-day Fall harness racing meet at Rosecroft Raceway kicks off on Tuesday (Sept. 19) and runs through Thursday (Dec. 21).
Post time will remain at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a few exceptions. There will be no racing on Thursday (Oct. 26) and Nov. 21 and 23 (Thanksgiving week). There will be a special live racing program on Saturday (Oct. 28) with a 12:30 p.m. post time in conjunction with celebrating the month of the horse in Maryland.
The $125,000 Potomac Pace will be raced on Thursday (Nov. 9). Last year’s edition of Rosecroft’s signature event resulted in Allywag Hanover setting a new track and world record of 1:46.4. It was at the time the fastest race mile ever on a five-eighths-mile track. A $5,000 bonus will once again be offered for a track record breaking performance.
We will be qualifying on Tuesday (Sept. 12) at 11 a.m. The entry box closes at 9 a.m. Monday. The track will also be open for training from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the qualifying day.
“We’re excited for the return of live racing here at Rosecroft” stated Lisa Watts, longtime Director of Operations at Rosecroft.” We had a great spring meet and we’re looking to carry that momentum into the fall. We are very appreciative of all the horsemen who continue to support our racing product.”
