FORT WASHINGTON, Md. — Horseplayers will be treated to a steady dose of full fields and a refreshed wagering menu — including a pair of low-takeout Pick-4s nightly — when harness racing returns to Rosecroft Raceway on Monday (Jan. 19).
A total of 114 horses have been programmed on the opening card of the 2026 winter-spring stand, which will feature racing on a standard schedule of Monday and Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m. (ET) through mid-May. The result for players: an average field size of 8.77 horses and a steady dose of competitive fields with few standouts.
Rosecroft’s refreshed wagering menu features two 50-cent Pick-4s nightly, beginning in races 3 and 8, both with a player-friendly 15% takeout. Additionally, the 50-cent Jackpot Hi-5 will now be offered in the final race each night.
On the track, the opening-night feature is the $12,000 Open Handicap Pace, carded as race 12. Spring Blake, who reeled off three consecutive Open wins to end the 2025 fall meet, has been assigned the outside post 8 and installed the 8-5 morning-line favorite. Russell Foster will drive the 16-time winner for owner-trainer Johnny Crites Jr.
