Precision Bluechip continues to lead the way

A good driver and a good horse are a tough combination to beat.

Such is the relationship with harness racing driver Russell Foster and Precision Bluechip. Sunday night, the six year old son of Bettor’s Delight sat the pocket after leaving from post eight and eased up the passing lane to knock of a stubborn Rocktavious, in 1:53.1 to capture the $12,000 Open Handicap at Rosecroft Raceway.

Foster leads the Rosecroft Fall Meet with 16 wins, and Precision Bluechip won for the 10th time in 26 starts this year after going 11-27 last year, he’s turned into a model of consistency for Owner-Trainer Courtney Brooks. The win gave Brooks a double as Jared Moyer scored with Redwood Again in Race seven.

Jason Thompson had three driving wins on the night, while Roger Plante and Moyer won a pair.

Trainer John Wagner had three wins on the card as full brother and sister, Tom All In (Thompson) and Connies All In (Moyer) won races last . Both are by a very successful breeding cross of Rusty’s All In and the mare Odds on Riesling.

Connies All In won her preliminary division for two-year old filly pacers in the Maryland Sires Stakes Program in 1:58.2 for her first lifetime win.

In the Colts and Geldings division, Jim Morand and Anthonys All In, turned the tables on his stablemate Donnys All In, who beat him last week, in 1:56. John Wagner trains both Maryland Sires Stakes winners and both are owned by Pamela Wagner.

In two non-betting races contested before the night time card, Foster guided Richard Hans’ freshman filly, You’ll Never Be Me, to her third win in five starts, in a lifetime best 2:02.1, while Hoofbeats De Vie, remained the one to beat in the Colts and Geldings division with a 2:00.2 score for the Joie De Vie Farm and trainer Christopher Lakata.

The hustle award of the day goes to driver Luke Hanners who had two wins on the Saratoga card, and won with Dirt On My Boots on the Rosecroft card last night.
