Good drivers and good horses are a joy to watch. Sunday night at Rosecroft Raceway, harness racing driver Russell Foster had the magic hands as he won seven of the 11 races he drove in.

Russell Foster scored seven winners
Precision Blue Chip, the 2020 and 2021 Rosecroft horse of the year, had three straight second place finishes to start the 2022 racing year saddled with bad posts and the possibility of leaving from those outside posts may have been detrimental to his chances of a good check.
Leaving from post five. Foster out sprinted Starship and Rocktavius who did their best to stretch him out in :26.1 to the opening quarter. Foster caught a :29.2 breather in quarter two and then unleashed a :55.2 back half in winning the $12,500 Open Pace in 1:50.3 for owner-trainer Courtney Brooks.
Despite the presence of last week’s winner and third place finisher Can’t Beach That (Jim Morand) Precision Blue Chip paid $2.60. Starship was the runner up in a great driving finish where all three were within a length of each other.
Foster also won with Gifted George ($5.20), Walden Woods ($6.00), Try Line ($2.20), Firm Ringo ($4.80), Franco ($11.60), and Trip Hammer ($7.80).
Roger Plante won with F Twenty Two ($13.00) giving trainer Colby Hubble a double and the 12-year old son of Jereme’s Jet won his 40th career race. Eric Foster had a training double as well.
