Good horses are hard to acquire. Harness racing trainer Richard Hans has been able to take care of that on his own through the years breeding talents including Cams Rocket and Googoo Gaagaa.
Ya’ll Beneath Me, a six-year-old son of Googoo Gaagaa, for the third time this meet tied his Aged Stallion Track record, trotting to a 1:53.2 score last night (April 4) besting Judge Bob and Northern Express in the process.
Those three horses haveĀ won 96 races between them and 1.1 million dollars in purses and they did not disappoint on Tuesday night.
All three left hard from the outside half of the gate, with Judge Bob securing the lead in :25.4, the fastest opening quarter in a trotting race at Rosecroft. Northern Express dropped in the pocket from post eight, and the eventual winner reluctantly took the three hole from post seven.
As the field passed the half, driver Jonathan Ahle pulled the right line on Ya’ll Beneath Me and he went past Judge Bob midway down the backside and opened up a five-length lead entering the stretch. At that point Ahle throttled down and would win by 2 1/4 lengths. Judge Bob held off Northern Express by inches for second, going a big mile himself.
“We were really rolling early and I finally surrendered. He’s a real nice trotter and could break the track record (Speed It 1:53) if I turned the whip around on him but there was no need too.” Ahle said.
YA’LL BENEATH ME REPLAY
Ya’ll Beneath Me is now 24-38 lifetime with earnings of $254,784.
In addition to Ahle, Jonathan Roberts, Jared Moyer and John Wagner all won two races and trainer Michael Hall conditioned two winners. Adrian WIsher Jr., and Paul Kramer took divisions of the Mid Atlantic Amateur Drivers Association on Tuesday night. It was the seventh win of the meet for Wisher Jr., and fourth for Kramer.
