Dawn Amiss’ homebred, Fantastic Voyage (Cool Flying Fun), is having a sensational start to the 2023 harness racing season.
Last Year, Fantastic Voyage won four times in 24 starts and netted a modest $39,805 in seasonal earnings. This year, the six-year-old stallion is headed for a bigger and better season.
Thursday night (April 6) at Rosecroft Raceway in the $14,000 Preferred Pace , Fantastic Voyage and driver Jared Moyer found room in the passing lane to deny the favorite Stag Party a third straight win, stopping the clock in 1:51 for his third win of the season and improving his seasonal bank roll to $32,700 in just 11 starts.
Stag Party sizzled an opening fraction of :26.4 and a third quarter of :26.4 while on the lead. Moyer launched a first over bid and was able to move to the pylons and save some ground on the final turn and take advantage of the leader’s fast fractions.
FANTASTIC VOYAGE REPLAY
Fantastic Voyage paid $44.60 to win for Amiss and trainer Shaun Callahan, and it was one of two wins on the night for Moyer.
Jonathan Roberts, Johnathan Ahle, Bryson Dunning and Roger Plante all won two races each. Trainer Mike Hall won three times, Jody Dunning and Thomas Lord each won twice.
Hall won with Prospectors Gold who is now a perfect 7-7 in 2023.
