FORT WASHINGTON, MD – The fall harness racing season at Rosecroft, highlighted by the $125,000 Potomac Pace, begins Tuesday evening (Sept. 19) with a 13-race program including a $14,000 pace for fillies and mares. First race post is 7:15 p.m.

The featured $125,000 Potomac Pace, to be run Thursday, Nov. 9, will once again bring some of harness racing’s biggest stars to the ‘Raceway by the Beltway’ as it has the past seven years. Since being inaugurated in 2016, making it the first $100,000 race contested at Rosecroft in more than a decade, the Potomac Pace has attracted such stars as Allywag Hanover, All Bets Off, Leonidas A, Wakizashi Hanover, Bettor’s Wish, Split The House, and Enavant.

The field of eight for Tuesday’s $14,000 pace includes Val’s Girl, undefeated as a 2-year-old in 10 starts last year and a winner of five of 10 starts this year with four seconds. Steve LeBlanc trains. Roger Plante Jr. will be in the sulky.

Jonathan Roberts, who drives Mimado in the feature, led all drivers during the Rosecroft winter/spring meet with 68 trips to the winner’s circle. Michael Hall, who sends out Mimado and Pasta Momma, was the leading trainer.
