SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (July 21, 2022) – On Saturday, July 23 Saratoga Casino Hotel will host its premier harness racing event of the season, the 13th Annual Joe Gerrity Jr. Memorial Pace. Some of America’s top pacers, trainers and drivers will be vying for a purse of $250,000.
The evening will also feature seven New York Sire Stakes races for two-year-old pacing colts. Overall purses for the night exceed $500,000.
This year’s Gerrity Pace is a full field of eight, including last year’s winner, This Is The Plan. The seven-year-old gelding will be competing uncoupled against fellow Ron Burke-trainee and morning line favorite, Working Ona Mystery.
“The competitive balance and post position draw should lead to an action packed race. I expect the combatants to be making moves from all over the racetrack in effort to bring home the trophy,” said Peter Iovino, Race Secretary.
