New Zealand import Alittlesidehustl N (He’s Watching) won the Fillies and Mares Open for the third time this harness racing season when on Monday afternoon, the Jackie Greene trainee went wire-to-wire.
The six year old distaffer moved out to the early lead in Monday’s $15,000 feature and the talented mare rolled through first-half fractions of 27.2 and 56.2 before being met with the challenge of a pair of recent Open winners as Arizona (Wally Hennessey) and Rec Time (Jordan Derue) whose late bids were thwarted by a no-doubt-about-it winner in Alittlesidehustl N who cruised to a decisive victory in 1:53.1 with driver Billy Dobson in the bike.
Arizona, a winner of the ladies’ Open in her previous start, closed from her outside post to finish second on Monday while Rec Time had to settle for third.
Alittlesidehustl N, who is owned by Kellogg Racing Stables and Jackie Greene Stables, now owns three wins in the Open in 2024 to go with eleven second place finishes on the year. On Monday, she paid $5.80 to win as the 9-5 betting favorite in the feature.
