Monticello, NY– Three amateur harness racing events were featured today at Monticello Raceway.
Alan Schwartz and Steve Oldford won their respective $7500 trots in the NAADA summer series; Schwartz with Bully Boy (Jailhouse Jesse) in 1:57.3 and Oldford with Zooming (Classic Photo) in 2:01.2. while Joe Lee copped the $4800 Catskill Amateur Drivers pace with App Hanover.
With the fieldĀ reduced to five horses in the first NAADA trot Schwartz sent Bully Boy to lead when the wings of the mobile gate folded and they had six lengths on theirĀ competition when they zoomed by the quarter in :28.1.
From there they showed the way past the half in :57.4 and they still had three lengths on the field when they trotted by the three-quarters in 1:27.4 which was opened to six lengths at the finish. Manwilling(Steve Oldford) finished secondĀ and Call Me Thefireman tookĀ home the show dough.
BULLY BOY REPLAY
The winner, a 6-year-old gelding, is owned by Risto Vidgren and trained by Gary Messenger. He paid $5.50 for the win.
In the other NAADA trot the 14-year-old veteran trotter Zooming rallied to a one length triumph for Steve Oldford turning back the pace-setter, Mr Ridgetaker (Dave Yarock) in 2:01.2. With that triumph–the 74th of his incredible career- Zooming upped his lifetime winnings to over $1.25 million. Ladys Big Stormont finished third for Alan Schwartz.

Zooming is currently owned by Oldford Stables LLC and Buter Farm, Inc and trained by Amber Buter. The gelding paid $4.10 for the win.
A third amateur race saw Joe Lee send Amp Hanover to the lead after the quarter and rebuff any and all challenges to score a neck victory over Festive Joe (Tony Verruso) in 1:58.1. Ms McKenzie Sowers finishedĀ third with Eastender.
App Hanover is owned by Marissa Russo and trained by David Russo. He paid $4.20 for the win.
