Eldorado Scioto Downs hosted four harness racing divisions of the $17,500 Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old filly pacers on Thursday (July 15). Disaronno Hill (Racing Hill) took the long way around from post nine to win the second division in 1:53.4.
Cousin Margie (Jason Merriman) took the lead at the :27.3 quarter with Western Rosie (Tyler Smith) sitting second along the rail. Gillas Last Call (Josh Sutton) made a first over bid but couldn’t quite clear at the :57.3 half.
Disaronno Hill (Brett Miller) sat second over and tipped three-wide at the 1:24.4 three-quarters. Posting a :28.4 last quarter, Disaronno Hill won by a half length over Western Rosie with Gillas Last Call finishing third.
Going off as the 6-5 favorite, the filly out of the Well Said mare Beautiful Hill, paid $4.40 to win. Carl Howard, Kiara Morgan, Tre Morga and trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. own the filly bred by Tom Hill, who now has $63,510 in lifetime earnings.
DISARONNO HILL REPLAY
Nebble Hanover (Aaron Merriman) also came from behind to win the third division, this one in 1:52.3. Getting away eighth from post eight during the :26.1 opening quarter, Merriman pulled her fourth over going to the half in :54.3 and three-wide headed to the 1:22.3 third quarter.
Trevor Smith followed that three-wide move with Well N Down to finish second, while Diamond Official (Miller) joined pursuit at the top of the stretch to get up for third.
The 1:52.3 was a new lifetime mark for Nebble Hanover, a daughter by Well Said out of the Northern Luck mare Northern Sky. She is trained by Ron Potter for owners Last Laugh LLC, Robert Dubovec and Warren Emery. The filly did not start at two, but is now three for eight with just under $20,000 in earnings.
She was a $18,000 Ohio Select yearling sale purchase from breeders Hanover Shoe Farms. Nebble Hanover was the biggest upset winner of the night, going off at 14-1and paying $31.40 to win.

The first division was won, gate to wire, by Cruisin Thru Time (Trevor Smith) in 1:52 after setting fractions of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:22.3. Heavenissofaraway (Dan Noble) finished second while Ruff One Lorene (Brett Miller) came from the back of the pack to finish third.The winner went off at 6-1 and paid $14.00 to win.
Trained by Tom Blankenship and owned by Jason Shumway, the win established a new lifetime mark for the Steiner Stock Farm bred filly by Yankee Cruiser out of the Western Ideal mare I Kill Time. Cruisin Thru Time now has just over $45,000 earned lifetime.
