Grove City, OH – The Ohio Two-year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year, Seaside Diva (Downbytheseaside), has started a defense of her harness racing title with a bang.
She has won all four of her starts earning just under $100,000. She looks to remain undefeated Saturday night in the second leg of Ohio Sires Stakes action of sophomore filly pacers at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Seaside Diva headlines the second of two $65.000 divisions which features six fillies. She won the first leg by a nose in a new lifetime mark of 1:51. Chris Page will drive the 2-1 favorite for trainer Ron Burke. Seaside Diva is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Knox Services, and Let It Ride Stables.
Bath Bomb (Lather Up) finished second to Seaside Diva in the first leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes and is the second choice on the morning line at 3-1. Tyler Smith will drive for trainer Per Engblom. The filly has hit the board in all five starts this year, winning two. Morrison Racing Stables owns Bath Bomb.
In Saturday night’s first division, Flying Bullets (Downbytheseaside) will move up to the Sires Stakes from the Buckeye Stallion Series. Flying Bullets set a lifetime mark of 1:52.1 winning the first leg of the BSS at Miami Valley in early May. Since then, she has failed to hit the board in her two starts. The filly is the second choice at 7-2. Clair Umholtz trains for Umholtz & Kennedy Racing.
The race favorite is Rose Run Zoey (Lather Up). Tyler Smith will handle the 2-1 favorite for trainer Ryan Miller. She is looking for her first win of the year. She has hit the board in all 10 lifetime starts with three wins. Miller Racing Stable and Let It Ride Stable own Rose Run Zoey.
Sixteen races are on the schedule at Scioto Downs with the first race scheduled for a 5:45 post time.
