WASHINGTON, PA, July 9, 2022  — Seatoshiningsea (Downbytheseaside-America Rocks) made a splashy harness racing career debut Saturday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, using an impressive, uncovered move to capture a division of a Pop-Up Series. Roman Nudus took the other $8,000 second leg split in the event for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers.

Seatoshiningsea and driver Ronnie Wrenn, Jr.

Seatoshiningsea looked sharp in a pair of qualifiers, showing a propensity for passing rivals. He did just that Saturday when Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. moved him from fifth down the backside.

Seatoshiningsea wore down the leader, Essie, and defeated him by 3/4 lengths in 1:55.2. Live Love Lindy earned show.

Ron Burke trains Seatoshiningsea for Burke Racing Stable, Wingfield Five, RAS Racing and Knox Services.

SEATOSHININGSEA REPLAY

Roman Nudus pulled the pocket past the three-quarters and scored easily in 1:56.4 for Ronnie Gillespie and owner/trainer Susan Sickle. Recollect was 3/4 lengths back in second, with Bet Cha Win Blue third.

Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday when the 12-race program features a pair of stakes for freshman colt and gelding trotters: a $152,430 Pennsylvania Sires Stake and a $60,000 PA Stallion Series event. On the wagering front, the card offers a $1,153.46 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race 4) as well as a $455.76 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 PM.
