After getting a perfect trip from harness racing driver Austin Siegelman, Nows The Moment (Credit Winner) made it two straight scores in the $36,000 Open Handicap Trot at Yonkers Raceway Thursday (Feb. 16).
The 2nd race feature got underway with Nows The Moment and Siegelman leaving from post five to the early lead over Hey Livvy (Jordan Stratton) and then taking the two-hole trip when HL Revadon (Yannick Gingras) came first-over to take command at the opening quarter mile in a quick :26.4.
HL Revadon led to the half mile in :56.1 as Timestorm (Jason Bartlett) started up first-over from fifth place to third place at the three-quarters in 1:25.3 and following his outside cover was Lean Hanover (Jim Marohn, Jr.).
On the final turn Timestorm began to fade and Siegelman moved Nows The Moment from the pocket to come after HL Revadon. Nows The Moment collared HL Revadon and then pulled away to win by two lengths in 1:54.2. Hey Livvy was able to grab second place over HL Revadon.
NOWS THE MOMENT REPLAY
It was the second straight win and second win on the season for Nows The Moment. The eight-year-old gelding is trained by Mr Allison Mac Donald for owner Sonya Mac Donald, and he paid $2.80 to win as the wagering favorite.
