Shoobee Doo A best in return from layoff

HARRINGTON, Del. – Michael Casalino and Dylan Davis’ Shoobee Doo A ($4, Corey Callahan) was a one-length winner in the $20,000 featured harness racing Open Pace Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:52.3.

The 6-year-old Shoobee’s Place gelding grinded away first-over at pacesetter Keep On Rocking A and edged clear in the stretch for his 8^th win of the year. Keep On Rocking A held second with mare Scuola Hanover gaining late for third. It was the 25^th career win for Shoobee Doo, who had been off since 8-16. He is trained by co-owner Davis.

It was a speedy night on the half-mile oval as two horses blazed to sub-1:52 miles on the undercard, including Forrest Bartlett’s Justasec N ($6.80, Pat Berry) who was a 1:51.4 winner in a $14,800 conditioned pace. Art Stafford and Art Stafford Jr.’s Calvin K ($2.40, Stafford Jr.) was a 1:51.3 winner in an $11,000 conditioned event.

Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until October 20.
