Grove City, OH – Six divisions of 49 three-year-old colt harness racing pacers will take to the MGM Northfield Park track Saturday night June 8 in search of a win in the second leg of the Buckeye Stallions Series. A total of $120,000 will be on the line with each division carrying a purse of $20,000.
Four of the divisions will feature winners from the first leg at Miami Valley Raceway on May 2.
In the first division, Attention Span (Downbytheseaside) look for his second win in the Stallion Series. Brett Miller will drive the gelding for trainer Brady Galliers. Attention Span is owned by Galliers Racing and David Kryway.
In the fourth division, first-leg winners Dancin Moon (Dancin Yankee) and Wirelesscaller (Bullville Powerful) will hook up. Jeremy Smith will drive Dancin Moon for trainer Herman Hagerman. Dancin Moon will be looking for his fourth win in eight starts. Wirelesscaller will be making his 14th start of the year for trainer William Miller II. Billy Davis Jr. will pilot the colt. Wirelesscaller has two wins this year.
What An Ocean View (Downbytheseaside) heads the field for the fifth division. The Ron Burke trainee has hit the board in six of eight starts, winning two. Chris Page will drive the gelding.
In the final division of the night, Jason Bartlett will drive Threemargaritashot (Pet Rock) for trainer Randy Smith. He has won two of five races this year.
First-leg winner Rock The Hill is not entered in the second leg.
The six Buckeye Stallion Series races are part of the Battle of Lake Erie card at MGM Northfield Park. The card includes the Battle of Lake Erie, the MGM Buckeye Distaff, and the $100,000 Ohio Sires Stakes second leg for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters. The first race post time for the 16-race card from MGM Northfield Park is 6:00 PM.
