Monticello, NY— Some Deal Hanover (American Ideal, Bruce Aldrich Jr) won the $6,500 harness racing Open pace at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 14).
Memphistennessee N (Joseph Chindano Jr) took the early lead but was quickly conquered by Some Deal Hanover from the outside. As they passed the first quarter mile in :27.4, Kj Hunter (Jim Taggart Jr) was battling Some Deal Hanover for the lead, with Memphistennessee N following in third and Special Graduate (Adam Moeykens) racing in fourth.
Kj Hunter stole the lead from Some Deal Hanover as they passed the half mile in :57.1. Memphistennessee N and Smart Talker (Gregory Merton) battled for third.
As they reached the three-quarter mile pole in 1:26.2, Kj Hunter had the lead by a length over Some Deal Hanover. At the top of the stretch, Some Deal Hanover moved to close the gap and battle Kj Hunter for the lead, seizing the victory by a head in 1:55.3. Kj Hunter came in second and Kilowatt Kid N (Michael Merton) finished in third.

Some Deal Hanover is a 5-year-old gelding trained by Laura Aldrich for owners Rick Howles and John Hallett. He paid $5.20 to win.
