Jody, Southwind Icenfire and Majorca N left for early race positions. Majorca N left but retreated to fourth at the start of the race.

Jody held a brief lead reaching the opening quarter in 28 flat. Southwind Icenfire vacated the pocket and rushed to the top past the quarter. Majorca N, the 1/2 betting favorite, sprinted quickly attempting to challenge Southwind Icenfire for the lead but was rebuffed and parked out. The two mares raced side by side pacing to the half in 56.3 (28.3).  Majorca N tired badly and dropped back sharply clogging the outside tier.  Southwind Icenfire was  breathing fire and quickly accelerated passing the three quarters in 1:24.2 (27.4).

At the top of the stretch,  Party Cruiser and Tae shook loose late but could not make up any ground on the leader.  Jody lost ground in the pocket.
