WASHINGTON, PA, Oct. 5, 2021 — Spanish Dream worked out a cozy pocket trip behind the 4-5 favorite, Something Reel, then kicked by her in the Lightning Lane to capture Tuesday’s harness racing co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.
Spanish Dream zipped to the point from post 5 for Aaron Merriman but released Something Reel when she quarter-poled. It proved a successful strategy, as Spanish Dream was fresher late, downing Something Reel by 1/2 length in 1:53.2. Hedges Avenue A was a ground-saving third.
Andy Rickert trains Spanish Dream, a 7-year-old daughter of Dream Away-Latin Liftoff who now has banked $323,164, for Nichole Stahl.

Svrcek also owns the 4-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Terrific Dream, who lifted her career earnings to $107,368, with Kristen Cron.
Dave Palone piloted four winners and Merriman three on the 12-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday when the 12-race program features a $15,523.65 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 PM.
